When you have a network marketing prospect what's the first thought that comes into your mind? For too many people first starting out in this business it goes something like this...
"You've gotta take a look at this! The company's fantastic, the products will cure any illness on the planet, and the money, wow! You'll be in that new sports car in no time!" Now just imagine the results if someone came at you this way.
You'd be running the other direction fast! Why do you think anyone else is any different? So what's the secret? There is no secret but I will tell you this; if you want to at least get the prospect to take a look at your opportunity, position yourself as an MLM mentor on a mission.
Your aim is to promote yourself, not the company or the products, because your prospects are looking for WHO to work with and not just WHAT company or products.
If you've been around network marketing for any length of time, you know the importance of shopping for an upline, and so do other MLM veterans -- the ideal people you'd love to attract into your business.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when first working with new prospects: 1.
You have to be what the prospect is looking for.
You are a direct reflection of the company you represent.

Throw away your sales scripts.
Why? Because people are not stupid and they know the difference between a genuine, from the heart spiel as opposed to a written presentation read word for word.
Be yourself, it's a lot more compelling.

Take a coaching approach from the start, from the moment the introductions are over.
Aim to over-deliver right away.
Start training your prospect with helpful tips and information.
Point them in the right direction.
They'll be drawn to work with you because it will be obvious that you are a person of knowledge, experience, and helpfulness.
By taking this approach, your network marketing prospect will begin to be drawn into your business rather than feeling 'sold.
' You have to earn people's respect by the way you treat them, and the way you present yourself.
Once your prospect likes dealing with you, it's a very natural next step to join you in business.
